Illumination is the backbone of surgical visualization. Without a stable, high-intensity light delivered through fiber-optic bundles to the cavity, even the most sophisticated 4K camera fails to render clinical anatomy accurately.   • Operating Lifespan: Traditional Xenon bulbs degrade rapidly, offering roughly 500 to 1,000 hours before requiring expensive replacements. High-power surgical LEDs consistently exceed 50,000 to 60,000 hours, virtually eliminating consumable replacement costs and mid-procedure bulb failures.

  • Thermal Management: Xenon bulbs emit significant infrared radiation, creating heat dissipation risks at the fiber connector and endoscope distal tip. High-efficiency LED systems focus energy on visible spectra, paired with cold-light heat sinks to protect patient tissue and fiber bundles.

  • Color Rendering Index (CRI): High-end medical LEDs now achieve a CRI $\ge$ 92, delivering a daylight-balanced 5700K–6500K color temperature that distinguishes oxygenated blood, fat layers, and organ tissue with natural fidelity.
